Introduction

By the world’s standard, I have it all. A devoted husband, terrific children (most of the time), my dream home, a cushy job, a loving family, a strong church connection, and bucket lists fulfilled. So why was I left feeling empty, numb, and longing for more? Despite all the good in my life (and I don’t discount it; I praise God for it!), I still had some nagging questions about my purpose and place in this world. I was seemingly doing all the right things, and yet I remained dissatisfied. I secretly wondered about God’s love for me and my worthiness.

Then in 2020, two things happened: I experienced being quarantined on a ship headed to Antarctica which strengthened my faith immeasurably. Then I had COV which changed me in unfathomable ways and ultimately leading to my deep dive into the Scriptures and my personal discovery of God’s plan and purposes for me a a Black woman, wife, mother, and servant of the most High God.

The two experiences serve to remind me that every answer to my every question can only be found in God.

My Journey of Faith

My literal mid-life crisis and encounter with God took place on a cruise ship headed to Antarctica. What should have been the celebration of a lifetime, turned into the nightmare of all time.
