Projects We support – Mazuri Ministries

Mazuri Ministries is dedicated to supporting women who need an extra hand as well supporting the causes and projects that are important to our Mazuri Ministries family.

We help by raising donations for varying causes, by connecting ministries and businesses with other ministries and businesses within our network and by promoting the causes and work of the women, ministries, and business that we support.

Mazuri Ministries performs rigorous due diligence with respect to vetting every woman, cause and organization that we support in order to ensure they are performing their work in a transparent and accountable manner.

Here are the causes we are currently supporting:

Mazuri Ministries Turning Pages Assistance Program:

Through this program, women have the opportunity to submit their requests for support to Mazuri Ministries and the submissions are reviewed three times a year by the Mazuri Ministries Board. Based on the needs identified as well as the available funds, the requests of the women selected are supported. The Board then works with each woman to develop a plan, identify needed resources and supports, document progress and share their re-written stories. Click here to learn about previously supported women. Currently Turning Pages is supporting 6 young ladies who currently live in a group home in Georgia. We provide gifts for major holidays, financial assistance for seniors attending the Prom, financial assistance for graduating seniors attending college, establishment of a virtual book club and mentorship. Mazuri Ministries LIFE Lessons Bible Studies Print Project:

Mazuri Ministries provides a series of Bible Studies designed for the Liberation, Inspiration, Fortification and Edification (LIFE) of women, equipping, enlightening and empowering them so that they may better love, know, reflect and serve God (Hebrews 13:21). It is our desire to go through all the world, spreading God’s messages of love and hope. And in an effort to reach women who are not so easily reachable, we are raising funds so that we can format the Bible studies and print them in order to provide them to women who are incarcerated. Massey Cancer Center Office of Health Equity and Disparities Research:

Annie Raney, the host of our Podcast, Didn’t Ask to be a Hero battled cancer and now lives victoriously for God. One of her passions is sharing her story and supporting Cancer research in order to encourage others who may experience the same. In support of Annie, we are supporting cancer research at VCU Massey Cancer Center. They are committed to minority health and cancer disparities research which is research focused on understanding and/or reducing differences in cancer outcomes. Massey has launched a center-wide initiative, Cancer Disparities and Minority Health Research Initiative with the ultimate goal of improving cancer outcomes for individuals in low-income communities. Corner Sanctuary – Pocomoke Community Garden:

Didn’t Ask to be a Hero Podcast, Neelam Strom (Series 1 Episode 3) has worked hard to establish a sustainable vegetable garden in downtown Pocomoke, MD in order to promote unity throughout the community, increase awareness about healthy living, encouraging the practices of gardening in low-income communities and growing and providing fresh vegetables for area families in need. Currently The Corner Sanctuary is raising funds to build a fence around the garden, to repave the sidewalk and to provide additional cooking classes.

By Your Side: A Ministry Supporting Single Mothers

Mazuri Ministries partners with Podcast Guest, S1E1, Angela Bryant-Dungee in supporting single mothers. We have raised funds in order to provide giftcards to single moms for the purchase of Christmas gifts, we have provided financial support to single mothers in college in an effort to lessen their financial burdens while they pursue a degree. Your donations will enable us to strengthen and grow our collaboration as we begin the process of establishing transitional housing for young single mothers and to provide greater financial scholarships for single mothers in college.
