Everyone will speak of God’s might and His awesome acts as we declare His greatness (Psalm 145:6)!
Our stories aren’t about us. Our stories should reflect Christ. When others see, hear, and read our story, they should walk away wanting to know Jesus personally for themselves. “If He can do that in her life, I want Him to do the same in mine.” And not only will others be blessed as we proclaim God’s goodness, but we will also be acknowledged before God in heaven (Matthew 10:32).
But for those who aren’t living or sharing the story you’d hoped to be living, I understand. Maybe you’re living a great life but you’re afraid to share it, lest you be identified as boastful. Maybe you’re afraid that your light will diminish someone else’s light or heaven forbid, blind them. Maybe you’ve forgotten the true Source of your blessings, and your story has been just that, your story. Or perhaps you aren’t living your God-ordained life story right now. Perhaps you’ve lost sight of the “happily ever after.” Perhaps there are some shady characters in your story that you don’t know how to write out. Perhaps you’re moving from one drama to another, with unresolved conflict, thickening plots, and no resolution in sight. Hold on. There’s hope. God no longer has to serve as the “ghost writer”of your story.
He can revive your testimony, re-write your story and give you a reason and desire to shout! Every day of our lives are already recorded in His book (Psalm 139:16-17). So why not allow the creator and author of your life story fill the pages of your life story? In God’s hands we can be a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Hearts of stone can be transplanted with a moldable, spirit-filled heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). Our minds can be renewed (Romans 12:2). We can demonstrate faith over fear (Psalm 34:4). We can exude grace and peace (2 Peter 1:2) and shine with a glow that Mac cosmetics can’t touch (Isaiah 60:1; Mathew 5:16)!
