In the Song of Solomon, we find the unnamed Shulamite Woman who can be characterized as one of the most unreserved, unadulterated celebrations of femininity. 

This series serves to celebrate the inner Shulamite Woman in you – to celebrate all the diverse, complex, tender, uninhibited, beautiful, and loving pieces that make up woman. 

The Shulamite Series novels got their start when the main character, Shula accepts an offer to counsel women about marriage, love and fulfillment at Naaman’s, a Christian spa and retreat center designed to meet the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical needs of women. 

Each story emphasizes a key Biblical theme and explores its relevancy for the 21st century woman – wife or widow, young or old, single or married, sister or daughter, working in or out of the home. These novels are about the experiences of love and loss, of friendships and family drama. They are stories of guilt, shame, and despair; of worries, doubt, and fear; of love, loss, and laughter; but most importantly, they are stories of redemption, restoration, and our re-creation.

ABOUT DAVENIA

I debuted my first book, Naked and Unashamed, in March 2017. Since that time, I’ve started a nonprofit organization, Mazuri Ministries, designed to empower and encourage women in reclaiming their narrative and rewriting their story by better understanding God’s design for them. As a former researcher and professor, and continued lover of books, I’ve always had a passion for writing and now, praise God, I write full-time. I consider myself a called-out, Jesus-loving, big-hearted, true worshipping work in progress. And most importantly, I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and a faithful servant of God.

Watching God work in my life has been a sight to behold. He took a shy, introverted, hater of public speaking and turned me into a mouthpiece for His purpose! I have grown to put my fears aside in order to share His message of love, hope and empowerment. God has given me a message and I’ve shared that message through the Shulamite Series as well as other inspirational devotions and inspirational thoughts.
