HE GAVE ME A VISION, I  HEEDED HIS CALL , AND I’VE BEEN FOLLOWING HIS LEAD EVER SINCE.

My voice is the pen of a ready writer (Psalm 45:1). That which I have heard, which I have seen with my own eyes, which I have looked at and my hands have touched—this I proclaim concerning the Word of life. Jesus has showed up for me, I have seen Him work and I write to testify to it, to proclaim to you the eternal life, so that you also may know Jesus (paraphrased from I John 1:1-3). I write to share the good news, like cold water to a weary soul (Proverbs 25:25). I write because I’ve been called to lift up my voice with boldness and strength (Isaiah 40:9). 

This is why I write!  

I pray that you will be blessed by my writings.

The Shulamite Series is classified as Christian Fiction, but I like to think of it as “creative nonfiction parables” (I think I just made that up) because while the characters aren’t real, their stories are my stories or the stories of people I’ve encountered, or of those whom I know and love (I’ll leave you to guess which parts of the story are real, but if you ask, I’ll gladly share 😊). 

The Prayers and the Prayer Devotional are scriptural prayers designed to elicit the power of the Holy Spirit to eradicate disease, to return the lost within the fold, and to provide exceedingly abundantly beyond our wildest hopes and dreams! 

The Blog Posts are mini-Bible Studies centered around pivotal moments in my life. 

And the Monday Morning Motivations are just that – little nuggets of inspiration and prayers designed to get your week off to a great start.

ABOUT DAVENIA

I debuted my first book, Naked and Unashamed, in March 2017. Since that time, I’ve started a nonprofit organization, Mazuri Ministries, designed to empower and encourage women in reclaiming their narrative and rewriting their story by better understanding God’s design for them. As a former researcher and professor, and continued lover of books, I’ve always had a passion for writing and now, praise God, I write full-time. I consider myself a called-out, Jesus-loving, big-hearted, true worshipping work in progress. And most importantly, I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and a faithful servant of God.

Watching God work in my life has been a sight to behold. He took a shy, introverted, hater of public speaking and turned me into a mouthpiece for His purpose! I have grown to put my fears aside in order to share His message of love, hope and empowerment. God has given me a message and I’ve shared that message through the Shulamite Series as well as other inspirational devotions and inspirational thoughts.

My favorite Bible text is Jeremiah 29:11 and I wait in confident expectation that God’s continued plans for me are exceedingly and abundantly more than anything I could ever ask or hope for. And it is my prayer that I can support you in your journey to living the more abundant life too!
